These tests will save an individual 8-10 therapy sessions due to the breadth of information that each assessment test provides. Here is more information about the assessment tests: Sexual Dependence Inventory (SDI-4) This standardized assessment, developed by Patrick Carnes, Ph.D., provides invaluable information re: diagnosing client’s sexual behavior, assessing the range and scope of any problematic sexual behavior, arousal template, amenability to treatment, attachment style, relationship addiction, other addictions (substances), as well as assisting with overall treatment planning. It is a critical part of treatment and used with all clients with possible sexual addictions. Post Traumatic Stress Inventory-Revised This standardized assessment, developed by Patrick Carnes, Ph.D., has 11 categories of trauma. It offers significant information related to client’s past and current trauma bonding patterns. This test is part of the assessment with clients during the initial assessment phase of therapy. It is an excellent guide in treatment planning. Money and Work Adaptive Scales Index (MAWASI) This standardized assessment, Developed by Bonnie DenDooven, MC, gives clients a better understanding of their financial disordered behaviors and dysfunctional work patterns. It assists in the treatment planning and goal setting process. Research suggests that people diagnosed with sex addiction or substance abuse often have a co-occurring financial disorder. IPAST (Inventory for Partner Attachment Stress and Trauma) This is a battery of assessments for partners that assist clients in gaining a thorough understanding of all the elements involved in the trauma they have endured related to their partner’s sexual addiction. This includes: demographics, critical items, PSS (Partner Sexuality Survey), TIPSA (Traumatic Inventory for Partners of Sex Addicts-evaluates PTSD and their assessment of the addicts denial), strengths assessment, depression, anxiety and stress, trauma history, family of origin, attachment scales, drug use. |
